“Forcible suppression of opposition”
“A tendency toward or actual exercise of strong autocratic or dictatorial control”

Joe Biden is a life-long statist who believes in large, obtrusive government and dramatic public sector intervention in the private sector. He’s spent trillions in record time on stimulus packages, government programs and vote-buying scemes. Most recently, he unilaterally and unconstitutionally cancelled $1 trillion (?) in student debt. Meanwhile, his administration has used the DOJ to attack political opponents and coordinated with Big Tech to silence opposition, and his allies in public education are working overtime to indoctrine children and shut down “extremist” parents who speak out.
The Left’s preferred form of political discourse is no discourse; they prefer cancellation.
The modern Left’s defining trait is intolerance.
Dogged by low approval ratings and likely to lose at least one house of Congress this November, President Biden is employing the favorite tactic of all dictators as we enter the endgame phase of Election 2022: erect and attack strawmen. In this case, “semi-fascist” MAGA Republicans. Last night’s much-discussed speech in Philadelphia (the “City of Brotherly Love,” a bit of irony lost on some cheerleaders) featured an angry Biden stood bathed in red light and flanked by U.S. Marines co-opted as political props. His address was like something directly out of an Orwell novel.
Confused? In psychology, this phenomenon is called “projection.” If you’re not familiar with the concept and/or had a real major in college, here’s how Psychology Today explains it:
“Projection is the process of displacing one’s feelings onto a different person, animal, or object. The term is most commonly used to describe defensive projection—attributing one’s own unacceptable urges to another. For example, if someone continuously bullies and ridicules a peer about his insecurities, the bully might be projecting his own struggle with self-esteem onto the other person.”
Again… does that remind you of anyone?
Of course, it’s not limited to Joe Biden. His whole party has an increasingly prominent authoritarian streak. Right here in our own backyard, Phil Murphy openly trashed the Bill of Rights (and even said as much on Fox News) during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Democrat Party doesn’t have any ability to self-reflect. That doesn’t mean they don’t desperately need to. They’ve never needed it more. Barack Obama regularly degraded his fellow Americans (“bitter clingers”), but this is the first time a president has directly threatened his fellow Americans. And he’s done it repeatedly.
I’m not going to pay the labels game, but Joe Biden and his unhinged rhetoric are unfit for high office. Any office.
