The backlash against offshore wind farm exploration continues to pick up steam, Save Jerseyans.
On Thursday, Republican legislators rallied with well over 100 supporters on the State House steps in support of AR181, a resolution calling for an immediate moratorium on sonar testing and wind turbine mapping off of the Jersey Shore’s coastline. Legislators led by Gerry Scharfenberger and Victoria Flynn of LD11 (who co-sponsored the resolution) also touted a petition signed by nearly one half of a million supporters of a freeze.
Renewed attention on the scientifically-suspect effort to construct hundreds of turbines near Cape May has been fueled by dozens of whale and dolphine deaths along the coast going back to December 2022.
Scharfenberger and Flynn’s resolution was referred to the Assembly Environment and Solid Waste Committee back on March 20th where it will likely die due to Murphy Democrats’ control of the committee.
It was an honor to speak at a Trenton rally w/ people from all over NJ who braved the cold to support AR181, which calls for a moratorium on all activities related to the offshore wind turbine project w/ the growing number of marine life deaths.
