There are plenty of reasons to disdain the wind farms cropping up in U.S. territorial waters including a large planned development mere miles off the coast of Cape May County. Eyesores. Dead whales. Higher energy bills. The list goes on.
In his Thursday floor remarks in support of H.R.1, the Lower Energy Costs Act, Congressman Jeff Van Drew (R, NJ-01) highlighted another major problem with offshore wind farms: most of the companies are foreign-owned and operated.
“Every body of water in this country is blessed with… now will be out the mercy of foreign owned energy companies,” said Van Drew.

Orsted, Equinor, BP, Avangrid – all foreign-owned co's that have bought up MILLIONS of acres of our oceans.
It's SHAMEFUL that every great body of water this country is blessed with will now be at the mercy of foreign energy co's, all thanks to the Biden admin. pic.twitter.com/EDfFBlADlm— Congressman Jeff Van Drew (@Congressman_JVD) March 30, 2023
