The debate for what’s arguably Primary 2023’s most competitive contest is tonight, Save Jerseyans.
Gloucester County Commissioner Nick DeSilvio and former Washington Township Chris Del Borrello will clash on Monday night at 9:00 PM EST in an online debate moderated by Save Jersey‘s Matt Rooney and NJ Globe‘s David Wildstein. Both candidates are competing for the Republican nomination in a South Jersey seat that’s open after the long-time Democrat incumbent declined to seek another term in office. Redistricting made the Gloucester County-dominated seat (with pieces of Camden and Atlantic) redder than before, but a fierce intra-party battle between forces inside and outside of Gloucester have thrown the regional GOP into turmoil. Thus far, the contests has revolved around personal attacks rather than nuanced substantive policy disagreements.
