REPORT: Biden wants to house some of NYC’s “asylum seekers” at A.C. Airport

Will the people of South Jersey pay for New York City’s sanctuary policies?

After threatening to have roughly 60,000 illegals and “asylum seekers” cast outdoors or sent to other parts of New York State, NYC Mayor Eric Adams is also now demanding a formal declaration of a state of emergency from the federal government. Apparently the president himself has responded.

According to Bloomberg

The Biden administration has some suggestions for where New York City can house some of the 60,000 asylum seekers who recently arrived: a remote facility closer to Montreal than Manhattan, a tax office on Long Island and Atlantic City International Airport.

The sites are on a list of 11 federally owned facilities that US Department of Homeland Security officials sent to Mayor Eric Adams this week as possible locations to house migrants, according to a person with knowledge of the discussions who asked not to be identified.

We all have to pay for New York’s failures!

Recently, the Biden Administration decided to house thousands of Afghan refugees at Fort Dix, a relative short drive from A.C.’s airport. Biden’s plan is unlikely to meet much resistance from the Murphy Administration given that the Democrat governor implemented a sanctuary policy here in the Garden State in his first term, but, also according to Bloomberg, “[a] spokesperson for New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment on the proposal to use the Atlantic City airport.”

This isn’t the issue South Jersey Democrats – facing tough legislative battles this cycle – wanted to tackle heading into Labor Day. Not at all.

Congressman Jeff Van Drew (R-2) who represents Atlantic City blasted the Biden proposal.

“The Biden Administration is systematically destroying our country and this is just another step in that process,” said Van Drew. “It endangers our national security given the sensitive nature of the mission at both the FAA Technical Center and the New Jersey Air National Guard’s 177th Fighter Wing which are located within the airport complex. If New York City can’t handle the flood of illegal immigrants pouring into our country then how the hell do they expect a community less than one percent its size to do so? I will continue to do everything in my power to fight this!”
