LD38 GOP ticket pillories “insane” Murphy gender curriculum, policies in new ad

“Sex ed for seven-year-olds… seriously?”

In what’s likely the hardest-hitting paid media to date for the 2023 cycle, the LD38 Republican slate is up with a new web ad attacking the governor – and the Democrat incumbents – for injecting fringe gender politics into New Jersey classrooms.

The 30-second spot highlights Joe Lagana, Chris Tully, and Lisa Swain’s support for A4454, ultimately adopted legislation requiring New Jersey schools to promote diversity concerning “gender and sexual orientation” among other categories. Not long thereafter, school districts began rolling out shockingly adults materials for young children as early as the first grade including exploration of “gender identity” and the clitoris.

Also addressed: the ongoing legal showdown between the Murphy Administration and school districts who believe parents and guardians should be looped in when a child attempts to change their gender identity at school.

“It’s insane,” the narrator matter-of-factly concludes.

Bergen County’s LD38 (which includes communities like Glen Rock and Paramus) is a “lean Democrat” district for our Save Jersey race ratings. But as I also explained at the time we released them, folks, the GOP ticket of Micheline Attieh, Barry Wilkes, and Gail Horton is arguably the most likely to shift to “toss up” by Election Day and produce an upset in November if the messaging reflected in this ad finds traction with the electorate as polling strongly suggests it might.

For example, an August Monmouth Poll discovered that an overwhelming majority of New Jerseyans (77%) “feel middle and high schools should be required to notify parents if their child wants to be identified as a different gender than what is on their school registration.”

You heard it hear first.
