David Brooks is the prototypical limousine liberal, Save Jerseyans. He’s described himself as sitting “on the rightward edge of the leftward tendency—in the more promising soil of the moderate wing of the Democratic Party,” but that’s just a self-important way of admitting to being an unapologetic elitist.
The NYT columnist and Biden apologist burnished his pompous credentials on Wednesday by bitching about a $78 meal tab at Newark’s Liberty Airport.
“This meal just cost me $78 at Newark Airport,” posted Brooks on X. “This is why Americans think the economy is terrible.”
No, asshole. We KNOW (not think, which implies misunderstanding) that the economy is shaky because groceries, gas, and other essentials cost double what they did a few years ago.
And a closer look at Brooks’s photo reveals not just a burger and fries but a double shot (?) of some species of whiskey…

The restaurant weighed in to obliterate Brooks’s narrative.
“Looks like someone was knocking back some serious drinks – Bar tab was almost 80% and he’s complaining about the cost of his meal 
keep drinking buddy – we get paid off everything,” the 1911 Smoke House Barbeque explained via its Facebook page.
X users – who ratioed the shit out of Brooks – promptly added the restaurant’s 80% booze revelation as context.
