On Tuesday, multiple outlets reported that Passaic County Sheriff Richard Berdnik (D) died from a self-inflicted gun shot wound in a Clifton restaurant bathroom. Patrons heard a gunshot at Toros Restaurant in the midafternoon. First elected in 2011, Berdnik had been reelected to his current term in 2022.
