Murphy’s long-delayed Covid-19 report drops, and as expected, it’s a shameful whitewash

We were promised this report long ago, Save Jerseyans, but it was always planned for release AFTER Election 2023 in order to avoid any damage to the Democrat legislative ticket.

With 2023 safely behind them, the Murphy Administration finally released a 910 page report (click here) on Monday, and while we’re still working our way through it – it’s only 40 pages longer than Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and 300 pages shorter than the Bible, our initial perusal confirms it’s a whitewash.

“Consequently, New Jersey suffered the second-worst rate of death among all the states during the Initial Surge of the pandemic,” the report’s authors at Montgomery McCracken explain on page 6. “But the State, to its credit, took bold and early steps designed to substantially reduce the number of people infected – shut-downs, quarantines, mask requirements, and social distancing were all implemented and resulted in dramatic improvements in health outcomes over the course of the pandemic. By the Delta and Omicron Wave, New Jersey became one of the states with the lowest death rates.”

See? It’s now fairly widely-accepted that the lockdowns did more harm than good to our society as a whole, and many “safety” measures (like masking) have been largely discredited as an effective prevention tool. New Jersey’s response to the pandemic has been repeatedly panned, even in a 2021 U.C. Berkeley study. Hardly a right-wing institution…

So the entire premise of the report is garbage, and it’s a reasonable assumption that the length was designed to deter most potential readers from diving too deeply into this massive tome. Murphy may want to run for president one day. His wife is currently running for U.S. Senate. There was zero chance of getting an “independent” state-financed report which told the true story of how 10,000+ nursing home victims died, thousands of children experienced learning loss and emotional scars, and 1/3rd of the state’s small businesses collapsed, all because of the Murphy Administration’s political decision-making.
