NEWARK, N.J. – Nine more rioters were arrested on Thursday night outside of Newark’s Delaney Hall, according to DHS, Save Jerseyans, and Mikie Sherrill is now attempting to form a “protest zone” outside of the North Jersey ICE facility.
“I will not give ICE the pretext to expand operations in our state,” Sherrill announced on Friday during a press availability. “For that reason, New Jersey law enforcement is today establishing a peaceful, protected, protest zone in the area outside Delaney Hall. My Administration will be working together with community members, faith leaders, advocates, and State Police to help people move there today.”
