Is Chris Christie a self-promoting RINO moderate?
Or is he a political genius who’s tapped into a “new conservative populism” for 2016?
I don’t usually find much value in MSNBC programming, Save Jerseyans, but this “Happy Hothead” segment from Lawrence O’Donnell’s show wasn’t completely devoid of worthwhile analysis (see below). You need to discount the liberal tea party-bashing reflex and read between the lines.
The truth: Chris Christie is the closest thing that the GOP has right now to a Reaganesque “happy warrior.” Absent an alternative, the base might have to set aside its reservations with the man who embraced Obama and make due with the hothead who is about to obliterate Barbara Buono by a double-digit margin…
