Now that we are done cleaning up after Election night, the next big fight in New Jersey is set to begin in 2011. Redistricting, the process by which the crazy congressional and legislative districts get drawn every ten years, will be quite interesting this year given the harsh political climate and the unfortunate fact that New Jersey is likely to lose a congressional seat this year. That means that a district will be swallowed, and that process is never a pretty one.
Assemblyman and NJGOP Chairman Jay Webber has selected his team for the commission that will make the final determination on redistricting. The list includes:
1. Himself
2. Irene Kim Asbury (GOP State Committeewoman)
3. Senator Kevin O’Toole
4. George Gilmore (Ocean County GOP Chairman)
5. Bill Palatucci (Republican National Committeeman)
