A1952 – the so-called Out-of-network Consumer Protection, Transparency, Cost Containment and Accountability Act — isn’t moving forward today, Save Jerseyans.
“Over the course of this past weekend, we have heard from a number of stakeholders who have long supported the bill, asking that we allow additional time,” Sen. Joseph Vitale (D-Woodbridge) explained in a statement to the media.
The controversial legislation was expected to move out of Vitale’s Senate committee on Monday.
Chairman Vitale’s decision came hours after GOP Assembly members Jon Bramnick, Amy Handlin, Robert Auth and Nancy Munoz joined health professional group representatives at a State House presser to oppose the Assembly version’s low arbitrarily payment caps for out-of-network physicians (though that bill did clear committee).
