“A Delicious Pizza was Stripped of its Toppings”

Senate Republicans’ Budget Officer Anthony Bucco (R- Morris) should nominate Commissioner Simpson for New Jersey’s poet laureate.

The man has a way with words, Save Jerseyans!

Bucco lashed out today via press release after the Democrat-controlled Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee wasted more time on the long-dead ARC tunnel issue.

He paraphrased the Commissioner’s words which, as I’ve already intimated, were very Jersey:

The facts are these: the project was over budget, costs were a continuallymoving target according to the feds, federal law dictated that New Jersey was on the hook for all overruns, New York residents were not responsible for a dime despite benefitting substantially, and the trains dead ended passengers at a station in Macy’s basement rather than connecting to Penn Station.

To paraphrase the Commissioner, what was presented to the people of New Jersey as a delicious pizza was stripped of its toppings and ended up being a dry piece of crust.

What a delicious metaphor!
