Joe Kyrillos isn’t facing a “serious” primary challenge next Tuesday (defined as someone with significant name recognition or monetary resources).
He does, however, face the fight of a lifetime in November when he’ll go toe-to-toe with incumbent U.S. Senator Bob Menendez.
That’s probably why his campaign spent a little Christie/Romney $$$ to drop the above-pictured mail piece in my mailbox yesterday afternoon; it focuses exclusively on the general election, Menendez, ObamaCare and… you guessed it… his relationship with the Governor.
Why now? The base will focus in on next week’s contests simply because they’re already engaged in this all-too-important election year. It matters not that Mitt is already in a “clinched” position! Kyrillos is likely targeting 3 of 4 and 4 of 4 GOP’ers with this mailer in an effort to buoy his one major handicap: low name recognition.
Overall it’s a solid piece. Let us know if you got it and what you think about it.
Got it. And I'm not impressed. It's going to take more than who you are friends with to impress me. Kyrillos has an astonishing lack of accomplishments for someone who has been in office so long. And as recent polls indicate (http://www.northjersey.com/news/politics/Poll_Menendez_leads_Kyrillos_trails_nameless.html), his candidacy is nothing to get excited about. The right person can defeat Menendez, but it's not him. The establishment failed us by picking weak candidates in Tom Kean Jr. (2006) & Dick Zimmer (2008). We can't make the same mistake again. I'm voting for Joe Rullo, a true businessman who will bring the fight to Menendez, and not lie down like the two previous GOP candidates for U.S. Senate did.
