Polls across the glorious Garden State have been open for 7 1/2 hours, Save Jerseyans. The “morning rush” is long over.
This is the deep breath before the looming after-work rush hour, beginning in roughly three hours.
Only one New Jersey federal primary is considered truly “competitive” on the Republican side of the aisle this cycle: Anna Little (R-Highlands) v. Ernesto Cullari (R-Asbury Park). It’s an all-out slugfest between two conservatives that will ultimately turn on name recognition, turnout and personality.
Further west, in NJ-7, most observers expect incumbent U.S. Rep. Leonard Lance (R-Clinton Twp) to dispatch returning 2010 challenger David Larsen (R-Tewksbury Twp). But 2012 could be another anti-incumbent cycle, and Lance (who I’ve criticized in the past for wishy-washy adherence to fiscal conservatism) is taking this year’s challenge seriously enough to run more than one television spot.

lance and cullari.
Lance and little unfortunately. Cullari went too negative.
Larson and Cullari hands down
