It’s happening, Save Jerseyans. Again.
“A press event will be held today at 11:00 a.m. to announce the unsealing of an indictment charging Robert Menendez, U.S. Senator from New Jersey, and his wife, Nadine Menendez, with bribery offenses in connection with their corrupt relationship with three New Jersey businessmen,” the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York posted on X early Friday morning.
The indictment, of course, is already circulating. Click here to read it.
Among the accusations? According to Sam Stein of POLITICO, investigators found not only gold bars but “[o]ver $480,000 in cash—much of it stuffed into envelopes and hidden in clothing, closets, and a safe—was discovered in the home.” A luxury car was also involved.
Reliable rumors of criminal action against the Democrat and his relatively new wife have been in the wind for months. It had been reported earlier this week by NBC’s New York affiliate that a grand jury was considering evidence that Menendez, New Jersey’s senior senator, had accepted gold bars in exchange for favors.
Now the photos are out:

This is Menendez’s SECOND bribery indictment; a 2017 federal prosecution ended in a hung jury. He was “severely admonished” by the U.S. Senate for his actions.
Another element to the craziness: Menendez is the incumbent chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Was our country’s national security compromised by his actions? According to the indictment, he “provided sensitive U.S. Government information and took other steps that secretly aided the Government of Egypt.”
A live webcast of the unsealing of the indictment is viewable here.
