A Murphy Administration scheme to process illegal immigration at Hunterdon County’s abandoned Hagedorn Psychiatric Hospital is drawing a strong rebuke from the district’s member of Congress.
“The state’s plan to relocate unvetted illegal migrants at abandoned healthcare facilities in Hunterdon County is completely unacceptable. This creates a serious concern to our community’s security and resources. President Biden’s complete absence of border security policies has unleashed this kind of crisis across our entire country and now another wakeup call has come to our backyard yet again.”
“We cannot ignore the consequences of allowing millions of unvetted illegal migrants to enter our country,” Kean added. “It’s crucial that every level of government prioritizes the safety and well-being of our communities while also addressing the root causes of this issue.”
Situated on 325 acres which are part of the the New Jersey Natural Lands Trust, the shuttered hospital located off of Route 31 encompassing portions of Glen Gardner Borough and Lebanon Township closed its doors in 2012 during the Christie Administration. New Jersey later became a “sanctuary state” during the Murphy Administration.
Kean is a House freshman; he defeated incumbent Democrat Tom Malinowski in 2022 after a long tenure in the State Senate. NJ-07 is considered a top ten target for both parties in the upcoming 2024 cycle. The Central Jersey district is arguably New Jersey’s last genuinely competitive district after a new corrupt map drawn after the 2020 census went into effect.
Joe Biden reportedly considered sending thousands of illegals to Atlantic City Airport last year.
