God rest ye, fellow Republicans…
May nothing you dismay! Mitt Romney may not be president, but we’ll live to fight another day.
That’s the liberal Boston Globe‘s unspoken conclusion at the end of the newspaper’s epic, must-read Sunday postmortem of the Romney campaign:
Exit polls told a stunning story. The majority of voters preferred Romney’s visions, values, and leadership. But he had clearly failed to address the problem that Romney’s own family worried about from the start. Obama beat Romney by an astonishing 81 to 18 percent margin on the question of which candidate “cares about people like me.”
Duh…?
You read every bit of that right here on November 7th, Save Jerseyans. And your Blogger-in-Chief said it in a few thousand less words. You’re welcome. But perhaps hearing it from a mainstream media source instead of a biased conservative like yours truly will make the point stick?
Republican ideals weren’t rejected on November 6th. Campaigns that were unable to articule Republican ideals were rejected on November 6th… by the narrowest of margins.
So let’s use everyone’s favorite holiday as an opportunity to end the infighting, stop ripping each other to shreds, “and with true love and brotherhood each other now embrace.”
