Earth to HuffPost: There ARE Conservatives in the Northeast!

“Tea Party denial” in this seemingly endless debt ceiling debate is a popular topic for talking heads at the moment, Save Jerseyans. For what it’s worth, I think the liberal media is equally confused about some post-November 2010 realities.

Here’s a bit of amusing proof: in their “Reid Bill” vote coverage, The Huffington Post assumes a very conservative guy like U.S. Rep. Scott Garrett (R-NJ) MUST hail from South Carolina!

“This side of the aisle is committed to reaching a solution,” Rep. Scott Garrett (R-S.C.) said. “But at the of the day … let it be clear, with God as my witness, we will not compromise on our principles — our principles of defending the Constitution.”

Garrett’s NJ-05 is hundreds of miles from the Palmetto State so yes, Virginia, there ARE conservatives in the Northeast! The Republican Party was on its last leg before Chris Christie provided a roadmap to victory in 2009. The GOP went on to pick up 15 Northeast house seats and scores of legislative offices in 2010; the Grand Old Party now controls, for example, 12 of 19 U.S. House seats in Pennsylvania and 6 of 13 in New Jersey.

The good news? Arianna and her ideological soul mates will continue to lose big if they persist in the belief in their misguided belief that conservatives aren’t viable north of Richmond.
