“Don” as in Donald, Save Jerseyans.
Not his famous brother who actually wears the pants and pulls the strings.
But I digress.
State Senator Donald Norcross (D-Camden), who represents New Jersey’s 5th Legislative District which includes Camden City, is slated to speak at the Metro Diner on Route 130 in Brooklawn (Camden County) tonight at 6:00 p.m.
His subject matter? What the event’s anti-merger organizers describe as an “official update” on the Rut-Row merger proposal championed by his brother, George Norcross III.
Hmmm….
For what it’s worth, Senator Norcross has been less committal than some other merger proponents from his brother’s machine’s ranks. I suspect he may even vote against the proposal if it reached the legislature. However, such a surprising act of independence would likely be contingent upon whether there are sufficient votes to pass the merger without him. Catch my drift?
Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Tonight’s event itself is co-sponsored by the Rutgers University–Camden Alumni Association and the Rutgers School of Law–Camden Alumni Association. It’s open to ALL Rutgers alumni regardless of which school or campus you may’ve attended.
Interested? RSVP with Rucaa1962@yahoo.com.
And if you decide to go to Brooklawn, RU Save Jerseyans, be sure to ask Senator Norcross whether his brother is “officially” open to negotiating this thing or, alternatively, is “all-in” towards achieving the proposal’s completion. There’s only one New Jersey Democrat whose opinion matters! Presumably Donald Norcross would know his own brother’s mind.
Salutations:
AS a former RUTGERS CAMDEN student a ALUMNI MEMBER, I strongly detest the LEGISLATORS and GOVERNORS unlawful and UNCONSTITUTIONAL proposed legislation to merge RUTGERS CAMDEN with ROWAN UNIVERSITY.
The BOARD of GOVERNORS and the GOVERNING BOARD of RUTGERS has a CONSTITUTIONAL DUTY and OBLIGATION to make the FINAL and JUST decision as it concerns RUTGERS CAMDEN and not the politicians.
Yours in DISAGREEMENT,
Ray Montana
