Kyrillos: “I stand by my vote in favor of Bruce Harris”

Joe Kyrillos

State Senator and U.S. Senate Candidate Joe Kyrillos (R-Monmouth) weighed in a short time ago following the Judiciary Committee’s rejection of Bruce Harris

Confirming and granting tenure to candidates for our state’s highest court is a responsibility I do not take lightly. In the past, it has led me to vote against nominees who I believe did not understand their constitutional role as a justice or were not qualified for the job. I stand by my vote in favor of Bruce Harris today, just as I stand by my votes against Justices Albin (2009), Poritz  (2003), Long (2006), and as the only vote “no” in a 36-1 vote on Justice LaVecchia in 2006.

In both my private meeting with Mr. Harris as well as before the committee today, he proved himself to be someone who would interpret the laws as they are written rather than legislate from the bench and respect the limited role of the Judiciary in New Jersey.”

  1. And I stand by my decision to vote for anyone but establishment GOP!! I am going rogue this election. These people are a disgrace

  2. Joe Kyrillos is nothing more than a Chris Christie "yes man", hoping to ride his coattails across the finish line on June 5th. He has been dodging his primary opponents and uses nothing but token RNC talking points in his campaign paraphernalia. He is every bit as weak a candidate as previous losers Tom Kean Jr. and Dick Zimmer. We don't need another puppet who's just going to lay down – we need someone who's going to come out of the gates and really put forth a strong challenge to Menendez. Any of the other candidates would be better, but it seems to me that Joe Rullo has the best chance at pulling off an upset of the establishment darling Kyrillos.

  3. No true Conservative can endorse DOMA which is not only socialism, but blatantly unconstitutional and constitutes a federal intrusion into states rights.
