ONLINE POLL: Rothman/Obama or Pascrell/Clinton?

The Rothman vs. Pascrell fight is heating up with less than two weeks to go before one of them packs up his office in Washington and has to find a real job. Reportedly, interal polling is showing the race to be a dead heat. Both camps are slinging mud left and right (or just left and left), and the debates have been nothing short of ugly.

As we get down to the wire, both men are now brining in the big guns from their adopted home of Washington, DC. Bill Pascrell has the unequivocal support of former President Bill Clinton, who recently did  a robocall for the congressman,

When I was President, Bill helped make the economy work for everybody . . . if you vote for him on Tuesday, June 5th, he’ll help us do it again.”

On the other side, Rothman has the support of the Obama machine through his chief surrogate David Axelrod. Axelrod made a rare appearance in New Jersey to rally support for the cowardly Rothman at an event this week. This is no doubt because Rothman was the only New Jersey congressman to endorse Obama in the primary election campaign of 2008. Pascrell, obviously, endorsed Hillary Clinton.

This entire race has essentially been each man trying to out-crazy the other. Instead of arguing about fiscal responsibility they have been blathering on about who has been spending more. Instead of talking about lowering taxes and lowering the costs of healthcare, they fight about who wants to expand programs further and who wants to tax the rich most.

If that is the name of the game, then which President wins out? Will Democrats in the new 9th be more likely to side with Bubba or Barry? I think a poll is in order.

  1. Clearly Rothman is a far left ultra liberal favoring gay marriage and Obamacare. Pascrell has a balanced view on these issues and is more representative of the views held by most New Jersey residents.

  2. That's a gross generalization. First, polls show the country evenly divided regarding "gay marraige" rights, so he's hardly "far left ultra liberal" based on that. And take a good look at "Obamacare". It's nearly verbatum the Romney legislation from Massachusettes. As much as he'd like to distance himself from it, it was based entirely on Romney's plan. And both Rothman and Pascrell have voted nearly IDENTICALLY on every important vote. So to say that one or the other has a more "balanced" view is somewhat skewed.
