Whichever ultra-liberal ultimately emerges from the Rothman/Pascrell NJ-9 primary race next Tuesday will have to face off against American Orthodox Jewish rabbi, author, and television personality Rabbi Shmuley Boteach this November.
Yes, it’s a D+9 district that President Obama carried by 23-points in 2008, but Shmuley’s star power, name recognition and fundraising potential have landed him on the NRCC’s watch list. A badly bloodied Democrat opponent in a “good” Republican cycle might have their work cut out for them. Time will tell.
For now, the Rabbi’s first TV advertisement from Jamestown Associates is ready to hit the airwaves; it’s a positive spot that mentions taxes but focuses primarily on “vales” issues.
