It’s no secret that Governor Chris Christie is a fundraising dynamo, Save Jerseyans.
He’s a huge draw for candidates both here and elsewhere, notably his friend Joe Kyrillos and Governor Mitt Romney. It’s already yielding dividends at home. For the first quarter of 2012, Christie’s Republican State Committee outraised its Democrat counterpart 3-to-1.
The Guv isn’t waiting for next year’s re-elect campaign to put that money to use. He’s launched a radio saturation campaign (see the audio clip below) blasting Democrats for failing to deliver tax relief in the FY 2013 budget. Democrats balked at the Governor’s invitation to make use of a special legislative session to compensate for their prior inaction; reportedly, a similarly-themed robocall is targeting key Christie legislative opponents (Greenwald, Codey) and potentially vulnerable Democrats (Whelan) in their home districts.
