The Congressional Leadership Fund (CLF) is out with a new $700,000 television and digital ad buy today in New Jersey’s Third congressional district attacking Shelley Adler (D-NJ1 NJ3) for her tax record as a Cherry Hill councilwoman (a Camden County town which is still her home; in case you missed it, Cherry Hill isn’t in the district that she’s seeking to represent in Congress).

Though Jon Runyan will undoubtedly appreciate this substantial third-party support, all of the available reliable indicators suggest the incumbent Republican in on course to win by a comfortable margin. That’s no reason to get lazy, folks, and there are important down-ballot races in NJ-3 as well. Work hard down the stretch!
The ad script is below the fold…
Script:
Announcer: Tax Increases – that’s what you’ll get with Shelley Adler.
Adler:”If I did vote for increasing taxes I’m sure it was related to the budget of the council at the time.”
Announcer: Well, you did Shelley. As a Cherry Hill councilwoman, Adler voted to increase property taxes three times.
Adler: “There are times that councils have to raise taxes.”
Announcer: Not in this economy, Shelley. Protect your money, keep Shelley Adler out of Congress. Congressional Leadership Fund is responsible for the content of this advertising.

I just think it's funny that they didn't proofread the ad before spending $700,000. The missing comma after "You did, Shelley" changes the meaning to "You did Shelley." 🙂
