Still Waiting For a Complete List of Christie Challengers

So what is that Democratic primary ballot going to look like in June, Save Jerseyans?

We know of one candidate’s name for certain, someone who has just made the announcement to run for governor – NJ State Senator Barbara Buono.  She’s all about change for the middle class, support for teachers, women’s rights, blah blah blah.

We’ve heard it all before.

She’s projected to have a lot of support in Middlesex County, which she will certainly need if Mayor Cory Booker throws his name into the mix.

Senate President Stephen Sweeney seems to be holding back on making a decision and weighing his options…. but really, that just means he is waiting to see if Booker is going to announce his candidacy.  And thus, he will most likely continue examining his options.

Then, we have State Senator Richard Cody.

This guy cracks me up.  Of course, I disagree with his politics entirely.  But I like a candidate that can show he has a sense of humor.  So many politicians are dry, bland and all about the issues.  This guy is entertaining.  I also don’t think he can hold a candle to Christie, another reason why I would like to see him on the primary ballot.

Cody recently posted a YouTube video that was earnest, comical and a welcome change from Booker’s recent lackluster video diary.  In my opinion, his likability outweighs that of Booker, who is really all glitz and glam – and not very relatable to the masses.

Senator Cody will almost certainly get beaten if Booker makes a run for governor, but methinks that Mr. Mayor is going to play for more sparkle, so the primary race may be up for grabs.  If Cody does get the Democratic nod, I will feel a little bad for him when Christie gets re-elected in November.
