
Webber: It’s Time to Stop Throwing Money at the Problem, Close Funding Gap

Asm. Jay Webber (R-Morris) didn’t say anything “new” on the Assembly floor last week, Save Jerseyans, but he effectively decimated the boorish “public schools are underfunded” argument that we hear so often from the ideological left.
You can I both know that’s hogwash. We discuss the facts regularly at Save Jersey.
What we need now are more New Jersey Republicans and independent-minded school choice Democrats memorizing (and repeating) the substance of the following speech:

Where to go next is a hotly debated topic. On the Senate side, Mike Doherty (R-Warren) recognizes the same problem while adopting a very different solution. It’s worth a look and listen.
Of course, the only sure fix for the education funding formula mess in New Jersey is in the voters’ hands: electing a state senate in November that won’t obstruct Governor Christie’s Supreme Court nominations! That’s obviously true of many issues, but few are nearly as important as the screwed up thinking dominating the funding of our education system. Let’s get this one right before the damage to the next generation becomes irreparable…
