Filmmaker Joel Gilbert and investigative journalist Charles Johnson recently visited Newark to learn more about Cory Booker (D-Twitter). They encountered more than one resident who claimed that the part-time mayor, full-time tweeter doesn’t even live where he claims to make a home (h/t Daily Caller):

Booker certainly wouldn’t be the first pol to pull such a stunt, Save Jerseyans. Perhaps only the most high-profile. Still, many will question this story’s source…
The residency issue forms the basis of only one of many unflattering stories floating around out there today; journalists are hitting the pavement hard in Newark over the final days of the special U.S. Senate election.
Just this morning, the Daily Caller published a separate set of interviews (featuring at least one of the same interviewees) claiming that Cory Booker might’ve embellished his role in the 2012 rescue of a Brick City resident from a burning home.
The Daily Caller‘s reputation for investigative journalism is nevertheless still hurting after, as our friend Art Gallagher noted this morning, the 2012 publication of prostitution allegations against Bob Menendez that later evaporated.
A new poll out Monday morning suggests the race is continuing to trend in Steve Lonegan’s direction largely due to Booker’s skyrocketing negatives.
