‘Salacious’ But No New Substance

George_Washington_Bridge,_HAER_NY-129-66PolitickerNJ is citing sources (presumably ones who are anti- or agnostic towards Governor Christie) who characterize the content of newly redacted Kelly/Wildstein emails as “salacious.” The Record, responsible for breaking Bridgegate wide-open, says the redacted portions contain “new information” concerning the scandal.

In truth, Save Jerseyans, it sounds like that’s only technically true, meaning we now have salacious new information about folks who’ve already taken on an exceptionally ugly light in this whole debacle, BUT (and this is the key part, so pay attention), we’re not a single step closer to confirming that any of this went ANY higher.

Barring THAT type of monster revelation, folks, we’re basically piling on two individuals who are already in legal trouble deeper than their eyeballs without gleaning any new insight into the larger issues on everyone’s collective mind. Yes, we’re going to actively follow next month’s court proceedings (click here for Judge Jacobson’s consolidation scheduling order); at the moment, however, I’m forced to echo Governor Christie when he said “I will not allow this to get in the way of my real job” last night on the radio.

Here’s a recap of Wednesday night’s program from NJ 101.5’s Eric Scott:
