Former 6-term GOP Assemblyman and 2009 gubernatorial candidate Rick Merkt is endorsing Murray Sabrin for U.S. Senate, Save Jerseyans.
“I am proud to endorse Professor Murray Sabrin for the Republican nomination as candidate for the United States Senate because I have known Professor Sabrin for many years and have great respect for his integrity, intellect, and commitment to principle,” said Merkt in a statement released by the Sabrin campaign.” Murray Sabrin is a gifted and articulate advocate for the core Republican message of limited government, and he will fearlessly carry this message to the United States Senate as a real representative of the people of New Jersey.”
Merkt, who was once a strong ally and running mate of Governor Chris Christie before the pair experienced a falling out, was recently back in the news as Bridgegate/Sandygate-hungry journalists delved deep into the Republican star’s political past.
Professor Sabrin faces three other GOP hopefuls in the unusually low-budget, netroots-driven June 3rd U.S. Senate primary: Rich Pezzullo, Brian Goldberg and Jeff Bell.
So Sabrin is tied to Bridgegate now? I think that brings us up to 279,843 reasons to never vote for him.
Who he chose to run is campaign is reason number 279,844 not to vote.
