New Jersey’s legendary but long-struggling casino resort is about to see its casino count shrink from eight to seven.
The Taj Mahal, formerly owned by GOP nominee Donald Trump’s organization, will reportedly close as a 34-day strike by Local 54 of Unite-HERE drags on, one which is the culmination of years of infighting between the casino’s dominate labor union and casino magnate Carl Icahn.
Labor Day will be the 38-year old casino-hotel’s last.
Approximately 3,000 workers will lose their jobs.
