Bergen County Judge Bonnie Mizdol isn’t signing off on a special prosecutor for Chris Christie.
Superior Court Judge Mizdol issued her highly-anticipated ruling on Friday after oral argument earlier in the week.
The motion related to a citizen’s criminal complaint, filed by activist Bill Brennan, alleging that the Governor is guilty of wrongdoing in the Bridgegate scandal.
Bergen County’s first assistant prosecutor will now decide whether to proceed on the complaint or let the matter go, a situation which legal and political observers believe favors Christie.
Today’s ruling represents a rare win for the beleaguered governor at a time when he’s reportedly fighting hard for the RNC Chairmanship.
