SUFFOLK POLL: One-third of N.J. registered voters undecided in gubernatorial race

A new Suffolk University survey of 500 registered New Jersey voters finds Phil Murphy in the lead but plenty of voters on the fence.

And by plenty we mean 1/3.

The Goldman Sachs Democrat fetched 40% support while Republican Kim Guadagno garnered 22%. Under 4.5% of voters went for one of five third party candidates: Gina Genovese, Seth Kaper-Dale, Matthew Riccardi, Peter Rohman and Vincent Ross.

The wild card? 33% remain undecided in a race most conspicuous for failing to attract voters’ collective attention.

Other recent polling results have ranged from a 13-point Murphy lead to a 25-point margin.
