#NJSEN: Hugin’s daughter spars with Menendez-backing Chelsea Handler on Twitter

NEWARK, N.J. — Comedian Chelsea Handler is once again weighing into New Jersey politics, but this time she may’ve picked the wrong fight.

An ardent supporter of Governor Phil Murphy during his 2017 gubernatorial campaign and even throughout the recent budget battle, Handler launched a Twitter broadside against Bob Hugin on Saturday, accusing the Republican U.S. Senate nominee of being “a misogynist and a bigot” and urging Garden State voters to back Bob Menendez, the ethically challenged and severely admonished incumbent Democrat who infamously used his power and influence to help a married friend get a visa for his paramour. That friend has since been convicted of perpetrating a multi-million dollar Medicare fraud.

But Hugin’s daughter Hilary Hugin — a millennial female force in her own right as a Manager of Media Investments and Connections Planning at Choban — tweeted back at Handler with an offer to educate the liberal comic on the differences between the two Bobs:

Hugin continues to face Democrat and Media attacks for decades-old comments pertaining to his Princeton men’s club, comments which Hugin has since repudiated.
