Cory Booker isn’t just doubling down on his support of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s wacked-out Green New Deal. He’s taking it to the next level.

The presidential primary candidate and vocal vegan recently gave an interview to a popular vegan magazine — VegNews — explaining that consuming eggs simply “didn’t align with my spirit” and declaring that humanity “can’t sustain” meat consumption.

“You see the planet earth moving towards what is the Standard American Diet,” Booker said, criticizing the food industry and endorsing increased consumption of fake cheese as an important goal for the world. “We’ve seen this massive increase in consumption of meat produced by the industrial animal agriculture industry.”

Eliminating farting cows is one of the major policy initiatives of the widely-derided New Green Deal; other aims including gutting and retrofitting every U.S. building, ending air travel, and ending all reliance on nuclear energy.

“The tragic reality is this planet simply can’t sustain billions of people consuming industrially produced animal agriculture because of environmental impact,” he added. “It’s just not possible.”
