TRENTON, N.J. — Al Alvarez is the figure at the heart of at least two major Murphy Administration scandals.
This morning? He’ll finally testify before the Joint Legislative Oversight Committee which is charged with investigating Phil Murphy’s hiring practices.

The presence of his alleged victim Katie Brennan will undoubtedly be felt during Tuesday’s proceedings despite her absence, and video of interviews from that investigation just dropped yesterday, but the Democrat-controlled committee’s leadership has already signaled that the rape allegations facing Alvarez won’t be a focus of today’s questioning. The SDA’s patronage problem — and whether the troubled agency has a future — is likely to dominate the discussion.
NJTV coverage begins at 10:30 a.m. EST.
