Get ready for this one:
A bill (A888) to help disabled New Jersey veterans has been held up in committee for 16 years, Save Jerseyans, without once receiving a hearing from the Democrat-dominated Assembly.
Assemblyman Brian Bergen (R-25), a former Apache helicopter pilot and Iraq veteran, revived the legislation and moved to finally spring the bill from committee on Thursday, but New Jersey Democrats manipulated the rules to silence their partisan opponent.
Democratic leadership responded by interrupting Bergen, ultimately turning his microphone off mid-speech, accused him of being “out of order,” and ultimately voting to table his motion. If you ever wanted to witness a single exchange that visualizes what’s wrong with how Trenton operates under one party rule? This is it.
