60% of New Hampshire Republicans won’t vote Christie “under any circumstances”

Former Gov. Chris Christie.

The New Hampshire Primary is still a few months away, but Chris Christie (aka Fatty McThunderbiscuits) is having trouble breaking loose from the “not Trump” pack of alternatives, Save Jerseyans.

Wednesday’s new CNN poll paints a bleak picture of his Granite State prospects, a place where Christie is investing most of his time because he likely needs to finish second there or face the possibility of a second consecutive early departure from a presidential nominating contest (Christie finished 6th in New Hampshire back in 2016 with only 7.38% of the vote).

The “good” news? He’s only a couple of points removed from second place.

The bad news: according to the CNN/UNH survey (the first released with September data), Christie is in 4th place (11%) behind Trump (39%), Ramaswamy (13%), and Nikki Haley (12%). Ron DeSantis continues to struggle badly and is essentially tied with Christie at 10%.

But the topline number is not the worst news for Christie.

His favorability rating is waaaaaay under water (17%-67%), and a near-supermajority of New Hampshire primary voters (60%) report that there isn’t a scenario in which they’d support Christie. Mike Pence (42%) and Trump (30%) don’t come close to the same level of negative not “under any circumstances” sentiment among the available voter pool.

Only 19%, by the way, say the same thing about Nikki Haley who arguably has some momentum as of late in the race to finish directly behind former President Trump…
