Mayor Pete had a tough Wednesday on Capitol Hill, Save Jerseyans, grilled by U.S. Representative Jeff Van Drew (R, NJ-02) over a Biden Administration proposal to settle New York City’s surplus of illegal aliens on federal land including down at Atlantic City International Airport.
“First of all, the Atlantic City Airport is an unacceptable place to house these people,” Van Drew said. “There are no services or infrastructure at the airport that could possibly support this. Logistically it is a poor concept. Further, the Atlantic City airport is surrounded by facilities critical to national security.”
Buttigieg denied having any role to play in the controversy despite the fact that the airport is part of the federal Aviation Administration’s campus, a subsidiary of Buttigieg’s Department of Transportation.
