National Republicans take aim at Altman in NJ-07

National Republicans wasted no time in attacking Sue Altman, the far-Left Democrat activist who became the presumptive NJ-07 nominee on Tuesday after her remaining competitor abandoned his own Democrat primary bid.

The Congressional Leadership Fund (CLF) put out a release highlighting Altman’s leadership of the “NJ Working Families Alliance,” a socialist organization supportive of the “defund the police” movement and taxpayer investment in goodies for illegal alliance.

Altman, whose most famous moment transpired in 2019 when she was drug out of a hearing during testimony offered by George Nocross III, will face off against Tom Kean Jr. (R, NJ-07) in November in what’s expected to be the only truly competitive House race in the state in 2024.

“New Jersey voters looking for commonsense governance won’t be moved by Sue Altman – the face of the progressive left in New Jersey – or her tax-hiking, defunding-the-police agenda,” said CLF Communications Director Courtney Parella. “Instead, Rep. Tom Kean has a record of delivering and will stand in stark contrast to Altman’s out-of-touch progressive agenda.”

Not all Democrats were pleased with NJ-07 Democrats’ effective decision to go hard Left in an otherwise favorable presidential turnout model. “Make no mistake about it, the Republicans got exactly what they wanted in CD7 today,” lamented Norcross operative and confirmed Altman hater Steve Ayscue on X. “Don’t say I didn’t tell you so.”

Kean is a former state senator, son of the ex-governor of the same name, and a freshman House member who defeated Tom Malinowski in 2022 in a district that became somewhat more Republican in redistricting. NJ-07 is a top ten target for both the NRCC and DCCC this time around. It’s expected that both parties will spend millions on New York television in the hopes of gaining an advantage in the Central Jersey swing outpost.

The GOP certainly can’t afford to lose any seats on Capitol Hill. Their majority-on-paper-only failed to impeach Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas on Tuesday night, an epic failure underscoring the necessity of defending every seat (including Kean’s) this cycle.
