Christie reemerges to hawk his new book

He’s back. Again.

After a few weeks of laying low following an ignominious exit from the 2024 GOP primary, former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie popped his head up on Monday to confirm the Tuesday release of his third book through mega-publisher Simon & Schuster. The title? “What Would Reagan Do?: Life Lessons from the Last Great President.”

“It’s amazing what how much Reagan was able to achieve by sticking to his principles and connecting on a human level with those around him,” Christie explains in the tome’s introduction section. “Each chapter of this book is not only great history, it also contains a blueprint for bringing our country back to achieving big things at home and around the world.”

Of course Christie’s last book also promised readers a “blueprint” for GOP success, but Republican Rescue released in 2021 was a major flop. Chris Christie is now 0-2 in presidential campaigning, dropping out in 2016 after a six-place finish in New Hampshire and departing the 2024 contest before even making it to the Granite State’s big day. He’s arguably the least popular Republican in the nation.

Is he really in any position to lecture anyone else on what it takes for Republicans to win? Especially at the cost of a book?

Unlikely.
