Curtis Bashaw has won his first county line outside of the South Jersey/Shore region, Save Jerseyans, a geographically notable victory as the pivotl convention season enters its final stretch.
The Cape May developer won Somerset County’s Republican U.S. Senate nomination on Tuesday night; he defeated Christine Glassner of Mendam on the second ballot after leading her 90 votes to 68 on the first. The second vote remained competitive: 110 to 84.
Alex Zdan, formerly of News 12, was eliminated after the first ballot with only 50 votes despite last week’s upset win in vote-rich Monmouth County.
