WASHINGTON, D.C. — President Donald Trump has formally weighed-in on this year’s NJ-11 House contest to succeed the retiring Rodney Frelinghuysen, endorsing conservative Republican Assemblyman Jay Webber over elitist liberal Democrat Mikie Sherrill.
The President tweeted his support on Thursday afternoon:
.@JayWebberNJ is running for Congress in the 11th District of New Jersey. He is outstanding in every way. Strong on Borders, loves our Military and our Vets. Big Crime fighter. Jay has my Full and Total Endorsement!

Considered one of the Northeast’s most competitive House districts, Vice President Mike Pence has already visited the affluent, suburban Northern New Jersey district to fundraise and campaign alongside Webber.
A summertime public poll found the race inside the margin of error.
