The Congressional Leadership Fund – the Super PAC associated with GOP leader Kevin McCarthy – dropped ads in 10 highly-targeted House districts on Wednesday including NJ-07.
Beginning with the line “this is why you hate politicians,” the 30-second spot takes apart Democrat incumbent Tom Malinowski for his ongoing (and unresolved) ethics scandal involving unreported stock trades. Many of the trades involved pandemic-related companies in the tech and health sectors; Malinowski is the subject of a bipartisan House ethics probe pertaining to violations of the STOCK Act.
“Instead of standing up for American families, Democrats pushed higher taxes, coddled criminals, and prioritized their own bottom line,” said CLF Communications Director Calvin Moore in a release announcing the new multi-district ad blitz. “Democrats couldn’t be more out of touch with families back home, and we’re going to ensure voters never forget it.”
Malinowski is in a tough race with Tom Kean Jr. who fell only 4,000 votes short of unseating the incumbent in 2020.
