Frelinghuysen Endorses Lonegan

Rodney P. Frelinghuysen assembling his own yard signsIt doesn’t get much more “establishment” than Frelinghuysen, Save Jerseyans. Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen (R-11) claims a family name as ancient and well-known in NJ GOP circles as the surname “Kean.”

Now Rep. Frelinghuysen is endorsing his state party’s most recognized rebel: U.S. Senate candidate Steve Lonegan.

“We all know Steve Lonegan’s energetic support for cutting taxes and reducing the size and reach of government is just what the U.S. Senate needs right now! “ said Rep. Frelinghuysen in a statement released by the Lonegan campaign on Thursday afternoon. “Republicans across the state should unite behind his candidacy today!”

Lonegan has already locked up the backing of the staunchly conservative Rep. Scott Garrett (NJ-05) and the moderate Rep. Leonard Lance (NJ-07). Surprised? Then you haven’t been reading Save Jersey regularly enough. Shame on you!
