Ghee gathers supporters (plus Plaxico Burress) in Paterson

PATERSON, N.J. — NJ-11 GOP candidate Antony Ghee rallied over 100 supporters in Paterson at the historic Brownstone on Wednesday night, and those present heard a fairly positive message from their chosen prospective nominee to replace Rodney Frelinghuysen.

“Only in America can a guy born in Trenton to a single mother at the age of 17, be standing in a room full of supporters as he runs for Congress,” said Ghee. “We are fortunate to live in a country where if you work hard, believe in yourself, believe in your god given abilities and play by the rules – everything is possible. Thank you again to everyone who was there tonight, I can’t thank you enough.”

Notable attendees included the core establishment GOP Ghee boosters: Totowa power broker Peter Murphy, Essex GOP Chair Al Barlas, the entire LD40 GOP team, Assemblywoman Betty Lou DeCroce (R-26) and former New York Giant Plaxico Burress (Burress authored the forward to his book F.L.A.G (Fraud, Lies & Greed): Cautionary Tales of How Professional Athletes Become the Victims of Fraud).

Attendees speculated that Ghee likely raked in a healthy mid-five figure sum though no official accounting was available on Wednesday night.

Ghee is facing off with Assemblyman Jay Webber (R-26) of Morris County this June; the winner will face presumptive Democrat nominee Mickie Sherrill in November.
