NEW YORK, N.Y. — Nationally-syndicated radio host Mark Levin is a long-time fan and past endorser of Steve Lonegan, so it wasn’t much of a surprise when he endorsed the former Bogota Mayor and perennial GOP candidate for the 5th Congressional District Republican nomination over the radio waves on Thursday evening.
What was a little more eyebrow raising, Save Jerseyans? Levin’s colorful commentary concerning Lonegan’s primary opponent, former Cresskill Councilman John McCann.
“And I was watching a little TV there, and his opponent — can’t remember his name; what’s his opponent’s name? [I] forget his name. Just these vicious, vicious ads. And the jackass wants to come on my show. No pal. McCann is his name. I’m not required to put you on this show, and I’m not putting you on this show, unless you want to be eviscerated,” Levin said on his radio program.

McCann is indeed currently pounding Lonegan on the airwaves at the moment.
Whether there’s anything unfair about his ads are, of course, a matter of perspective.
For example? McCann’s favorite avenue of attack is simply using the words of the latter and those of President Donald Trump in juxtaposition, illustrating the bad blood between the Commander-in-Chief and Lonegan who bitterly opposed Trump throughout the primary and convention phases of the 2016 GOP nominating contest…
