NJ-07: Democrat Malinowski says it’s time to impeach Trump

WASHINGTON, D.C. – One of Election 2020’s most vulnerable congressional freshman is taking a stand on the question of impeachment.

On Tuesday, Rep. Tom Malinowski (D, NJ-07), who defeated Congressman Leonard Lance last November, announced that he now support impeachment in an interview with NBC’s Jonathan Allen.

“I’ve come to think that it is warranted at this point,” said Malinowski who represents a significant swath of suburban Central New Jersey.

New Jersey Republicans had six House seats as of 2016. They’ve lost five of those seats over two cycles. Malinowski represents the only seat captured by Democrats which was not carried by Donald Trump.

The Congressional Leadership Fund  (CLF) was quick to point out that a controversial impeachment resolution is championed by Democrat Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib, a notorious anti-Semite who recently shared that thinking about the Holocaust gave her a “calming feeling.”

She also declared “we’re going to impeach this motherf***ker!” immediately after being sworn into the U.S. House of Representatives back in January.

“Tom Malinowski is making it clear that he plans to spend zero time working on issues New Jerseyans actually care about – like fixing health care and improving the economy – and instead wants to waste time obsessing over baselessly impeaching President Trump. Bold move!,” opined CLF Spokesman Calvin Moore.

The field is still in flux, but Malinowski could face a challenge GOP state Senator Tom Kean, Jr. in 2020.
