Booker’s odds of winning the presidency are growing longer

Odds makers aren’t betting on Cory Booker to make it to the White House. In fact, his odds are growing longer.

According to an analysis from US-Bookies.com, Booker’s odds of being America’s 46th president have gone from 50/1 to 66/1; his chances of capturing the Democratic nomination have gotten worse, too, going from 25/1 to 33/1.

“Booker’s recent gains in the betting appear to have been undone of late, and with the likes of Buttigieg, he appears to be slipping away from the lead pack,” explained US-Bookies political analyst Alex Donohue. “A big debate performance could see him reverse this slide, but should he fail to land a blow, it could be that the bookmakers call time on the prospect of him becoming President entirely.”

Booker’s poor polling position was further reinforced last weekend when his own girlfriend – actress Rosario Dawson – was quoted as refusing to endorse Booker for president, only to reverse herself in an ensuing tweet.

Meanwhile, Elizabeth Warren leads the pack with 4/1 odds with Joe Biden (11/2) and Bernie Sanders (10/1) trailing.

At 11/10 odds, President Trump remains a slight favorite for reelection.

“Warren is the clear second favorite and most popular bet in the run up to the debates,” said Donohue. “Her odds continue to improve, recently shortening from 5/1 to 4/1.”

10 Democrats including Cory Booker will meet tonight (September 12th) for their latest debate, this time in Texas.
